Trias Batlle, Wines and Cavas since 1932
The history of Trias Batlle starts already at the beginning of 1932. Josep Trias Batlle started in the business of wine in bulk after being widely experienced as a vine-grower and his wines came already from some of his own vineyards. The wine business increased and at the beginning of the 60’s started bottling his own wines.
With the years the winery started in a new building with own subterranean cellar. This new winery started in 1980 at the same moment that the wines were included in the Penedès Designation of Origin, two years later, the first cava was born.
Currently the third generation goes on with the wines elaborating a brut nature reserve and a brut reserve, elaborated with a blend of the three native grape varieties from Penedès (xarel·lo, macabeu and parellada) with different ageing, ranging from 18 to 24 months, brut rosé is also elaborated.
In regard to the wines the elaboration consists on a “white of whites” (blanc de blancs), a rosé and a young red, furthermore, in the upper side of the range a red crianza, a Cabernet Sauvignon with 12 months in oak barrel and in special a Xarel·lo fermented in oak barrel.
Our main challenge is the quality on all our products as the main goal of the third generation run by the brothers Pep and Rai Trias Via whose aim is keep on growing by keeping the artisanal work by adapting the use of new technical equipment to be able to go on elaborating products characterised by quality and personality.
